A royal super-fan who sparked a security scare by bursting in front of King Charles III's Rolls Royce to take a photo was 'milliseconds' away from death, according to a special forces veteran.

The drama was captured on a live Sky News broadcast earlier today near the Savoy Circus junction, in East Acton, London. 

King Charles was making his way from Westminster Hall to RAF Northholt when his convoy was ambushed by a man, armed with what appeared to be a camera. 

The male, wearing a white top and blue trousers, had been chasing the monarch's car for about 100m when he darted into the road, crossing two lanes of traffic, to snap a picture of the King.

Close protection officers, travelling behind the King, leapt out of their vehicle to intercept the man, who was ordered away from the monarch's Rolls Royce. 

The royal super-fan's actions have today been branded 'crazy' by a former member of Britain's elite Special Air Service (SAS). 

It comes as Britain's security services prepares a ring of steel around London ahead of the Queen's funeral on Monday, with snipers on rooftops and 1,500 soldiers and 10,000 police deployed throughout the capital.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline Phil, who served as a close protection officer in Afghanistan defending European ambassadors from terrorists, said: 'This guy is extremely lucky not to have been flat-packed and shot in the head.

'Close protection officers don't get a lot of time to work out whether people are a threat or not...

He could have been milliseconds away from death. It would have been 50:50 at best whether he lived or died.'

Actress Amy Lindsay, who appeared in a Ted Cruz ad that was subsequently pulled once the campaign found about her nudey movie past, says she's not a '***' star. 

Instead she calls her resume, which includes titles such as Sex Games Vegas, Bikini Airways and Radio Erotica, one filled with 'late-night steamy' films. 

She was hoping to add a couple more Cruz ads to the fold as well.

Lindsay had walked into an open casting call and nailed her lines, getting the part.

She passed her audition and got the job. 

'Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. 

'The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial.'

The ad that was released showed Lindsay in a setting similar to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

A group leader asked: 'Has anyone else here struggled with being lied to?' 

A bald actor answered the question.  

'Well, I voted for a guy who was a tea party hero on the campaign trail and then he went to D.C.

and played patty-cake with Chuck Schumer and cut a deal on amnesty,' a disappointed voter reported. 

'Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time,' Lindsay's character warns. 

Then another man shows up at the door, sporting a Marco Rubio t-shirt. 






A spokesman for Cruz insisted that if the campaign had known of the actress' full filmography, she would not have been cast in the role.

Talking to Inside Edition, she said she believed in the message of the ads.

'I am a conservative person, fiscally. Socially, obviously, a little bit more liberal.' 

She said she would even still vote for Cruz. 

'If he gets the nomination, yes I would,' she said. 

On the radio today, she reiterated her support.

 



'I have always voted on the right,' she said.
